The Disciples of Christ’s Hurricane Helene Response is being coordinated through Week of Compassion. They have set up a special fund to give to Hurricane relief efforts to help many of our sibling faith communities whose buildings, members, and communities have been traumatically impacted. You can go online to https://www.weekofcompassion.org/ to give.

Our staff is looking to organize a CPR Class here at Englewood in October. It requires that we have 10 people to participate to book a date to hold it here at the building. We are looking at a Monday or Wednesday afternoon. If you might be interested in participating the cost would be $45 and would give you Adult/Child/Infant CPR and AED certification. Please let Christie know if you would like to be included in the planning.

We are continuing to plan and prepare for Historic Halloween which will be held on Halloween from 4-7 here at our building. You can volunteer to help with preparations, the event itself, and clean up afterwards on our website or by talking to Carolyn. You can also drop candy donations in the box in the office until Halloween.

After School Arts at Englewood starts this Tuesday at 4 PM. If you would like to volunteer or sign your student up, reach out to Carolyn or the church office.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who gave to help us meet our coat collection goal for Garfield Elementary. Last week we shared that we needed ten more coats to meet our goal and this week we exceeded that! Carolyn will be dropping coats off this week as the temperatures are starting to get chilly in the mornings.  Watch our Facebook page for pictures from our drop off.
